Detroit Diesel: Use this tachometer when: 1.- The reading is taken from camshaft gear, and the tachometer is directly mounted on the back of the engine (Camshaft to engine RPMhas a ratio of 1 to 1 2.- The reading is taken from blower, and the tachometer is remote mounted on your instrument panel (Blower to engine RPM ratio is 2 to 1. Use tachometer angle drive with a 1 to 2 ratio to obtain the engine RPM 1 to 1 reading). 3.- The reading is taken from the accessory drive gear, and the tachometer is remote mounted on you instrument panel. Accessory drive gear to engine RPM ratio is 2 to 1. Use tachometer angle drive with a 1 to 2 ratio to obtain engine RPM 1 to 1 reading.
